Why we built this

The hard part is not the puppy. It is doing it alone.

We started raise.dog after watching people we love bring home a puppy and quietly fall apart in the first few weeks. Not because they did anything wrong. Because nobody told them how much those first days would ask of them.

The first 90 days are the hardest window in a dog's whole life with you. It is also the window when most puppies get returned or rehomed. People are not cruel. They are tired, and unsure, and out of their depth, and they run out of the one thing they needed most, which was someone to tell them it was going to be okay and here is exactly what to do next.

Almost everyone feels unprepared. You read the books, you watch the videos, and then it is 2am, the puppy is crying in the crate, you have work in five hours, and none of that advice is in your head when you need it. That moment, alone in the dark, wondering if you have made a huge mistake, is the moment we built raise.dog for.

What raise.dog actually is

It is a calm, knowledgeable friend in your pocket. It gives you a day-by-day plan made for your exact breed and age, so you always know what today is supposed to look like. It lets you chat with Pup any hour, so when the panic hits at 2am you have somewhere to turn that answers kindly and clearly. And it keeps track of the small stuff, weight and potty and meals and vaccines, so you can stop holding it all in your head.

We try to talk to you the way a good friend would. Never clinical. Never shaming. You are going to have bad days, and you are going to snap, and you are going to cry in the kitchen at some point. That is normal. raise.dog is here for those days too, not just the cute ones.

One honest thing. raise.dog is a support tool, not a vet. We will never pretend to be one. For anything to do with your puppy's health, please talk to your veterinarian. What we do is help you feel less alone in all the hours between those visits.

If we do our job, you get through the chaos with your puppy and your sanity both intact, and you actually get to enjoy this strange, exhausting, wonderful stretch of life. That is the whole goal. Nothing more complicated than that.
